Discounts for Frequent Flyers

Loyal flyers are typically rewarded by airlines enrolled in them.

The frequent flyer programs stimulate clients to become loyal to the airline running the respective program by giving them either points or symbolical miles according to the distances they cover with each flight or according to the price paid for the tickets. Accrued points or miles can be redeemed afterwards - the loyal flyer can receive either free flights, discounts on airline tickets or might benefit from discounts on additional travel services or would receive bonus services or goods.

Most large airlines have their own frequent flyer program. Some low cost carriers have also introduced such simulative measures to attract and maintain clients.

Airlines from the same alliance also offer you the flexibility to accumulate and even use points with partner airlines. This is not a general rule, though. Some airline will not offer frequent flyer compatibility within their alliance. There must be a special partnership between the airlines.
 

Our advice to you is to check the major carriers first, those that are part of a major alliance, such as the following: Star Alliance, One World, Sky Team.

Especially if you area business traveler, a frequent flyer membership card can be beneficial. Such an opportunity can reduce your expenses substantially. Or, in case your flights are anyway paid by the company, then you would benefit by accumulating points and at the end take a trip to a wonderful vacation destination with your family!
