These codes identify airports around the World. 3 letter codes have been used for a long time and it's good if you know the codes of the airports that you travel through.

It is important because, there are many cities with the same name (for example Valencia in Spain and Valencia in Venezuela) and, some cities (especially the big ones) have several airports, each of them with a different code.
