Nairobi is Kenya's capital and it is the most populous city in East Africa with a total of approximately 3 million inhabitants.
With over 4.500 people per square kilometer, Nairobi is a very dense city... It is located high too, at 1.661 m (5,450 ft). So, if you're not used to this height, then in the first days it might seem hard to breathe. The pollution of the city will also affect breathing, so expect dust and thin air, mixed with high altitude conditions.

Today Nairobi is a boasting big city that has risen economically to become East Asia's financial capital.

It is also important from the touristical point of view. This is where most travelers come in when arriving to Kenya. Nairobi has also become an important airline hub towards Madagascar, the Seychelles, the Comoros, Zanzibar and other islands in the Indian Ocean.
