sq km (85.3/ sq mi).The state is mostly flat with wide arable lands, the highest point is only 540 m (Taum Sauk Mountain). There are 2 big cities in the east and west extremities, located right at the edges. Kansas City in the west, St. Louis in the east. Medium sized Springfield is in the southwest and must not be confused with the same city in Illinois! Missouri is a country travel destination where one can enjoy the taste of whiskey and experience rural America. Folk music festivals are frequent and Missouri barbeque is famous. Eat well, drink well and have fun in Missouri! Except airplanes, trains, cars and buses, river boats can also take you to and through Missouri. River Missouri and Mississippi are navigable in the whole state. |
