![]() Lyon has the 2nd largest urban area in France, with about 1,8 million inhabitants. The city can be reached either by plane, road or train. Perhaps the best idea is to arrive to Lyon by the famous express train, the TGV from Paris. The distance is of about 450 km. Lyon is famous for its gastronomy, but the city is primarily an industrial center in this part of France. The city was initially founded by the Romans, therefore you will see a number of Roman archaeological sites. There are many French castles, old churches in excellent condition. Lyon is a great place for photography, if you are passionate about it... A particularly interesting building is the futuristic-looking Lyon Airport building. Especially at night it looks beautiful.
