 Part of Surat Thani Province, Ko Samui (sometimes Koh Samui) is Thailand's 3rd largest island, about half the size of Phuket Island. The population is 50.000, but this more than doubles, multiples even due to the large number of travelers. You can approach Ko Samui by boat, but even by airplane. It is approximately 80 km from the Thai coast and about 700 km from Bangkok. |
