 Kenya is the most prosperous country of East Africa. The country is important economically and also from the point of view of nature-wildlife. Some of the most famous protected natural areas in Africa are located in Kenya. First of all this is what drives tourists to the country. The country is mostly covered with savannas, arid landscapes are everywhere... Kenya is mountainous in the west and southwest and it is washed by the waters of the Indian Ocean in the east, by the Lake Victoria in the southwest, Lake Turkana (of Lake Rudolf) in the northwest. There even is a desert area called the Chalbi Desert in the north, close to the Ethiopian border. An interesting fact to observe is that the equator passes through Kenya's central area...
