 A beautiful name for a beautiful city in central Mexico. Approximately 4 million live in the metropolitan Guadalajara, while about 1,5 million in the central part. The second largest city in the country and an important travel destination with many attractions, both old and new architecture, cultural riches, gastronomy and entertainment constitute reasons for visiting it. It is close to the capital of Ciudad de México, about 450-500 km on the road, therefore if you reach any of the cities, you can easily take a trip down to the other one. This city is more relaxing than the capital, because it is less agglomerated and has a few great places to walk around. On the image on the left you can see, perhaps the main icon of the city, the Guadalajara Cathedral. It was finished in 1618, but due to severe damage in an earthquake in 1818, new towers were built in the mid 1800s.
