![]() They call it the "Venice of America" and it acts like a magnet for tourists arriving to Florida. Fort Lauderdale has a complex canal system, it is a large city with more than 170.000. Ports, restaurants and hotels are almost everywhere and crowds of visitors flock the beaches every day! Summers are tropical, wet, while winters are dry, sometimes cools airstreams arrive bringing rain, sometimes storms. The best way to get in is by airplane if you arrive at the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport or Miami International Airport. Both are very close. Other smaller airports are nearby. When there, you can enjoy the sun on the beach or go yachting. Fort Lauderdale is considered the "Yachting Capital" of the U.S.A... Boat trips, cruises of all sorts are offered by a large number of local companies... You might also like to rent a bicycle and drive along the beach. Many tourists do this. Especially in the evening, when the sun goes down, the views with the palms are romantically beautiful... |
