![]() Ciudad Bolívar is a big city of over 300.000 people, located in eastern Venezuela on the banks of the Orinoco River. Initially it was called Angostura and was founded in 1764, but was renamed to honor the national hero Simóm Bolívar in 1846. Visitors who arrive to the city are often hikers, many travel to the Roraima Mountain, the Angel Falls located in the southeast from from Ciudad Bolívar and they stop over for shopping and sleeping. This city's old center is worth taking a walk in. The old churches (the Cathedral being especially beautiful), the city hall, the old prison and the modern art museum called Jesús Soto are among the primary things you should see. It is an all-year-round destination as there's almost always 30-33 degrees Celsius. If you would like to submit a site or web page to this category, you are most welcome! It can boost your business, help local tourism and also help travelers wanting to visit interesting, but not so well known city. |
