![]() The southernmost city of Spain located on a thin peninsula, a port city. It is the capital of the province with the same and is part of the wonderful exotic Andalusia in southern Spain. Cádiz is considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the Iberian Peninsula, perhaps even from the whole southwestern Europe. It has been a major port, also an important Spanish Navy port. Cádiz is just across the ocean from Morocco and not far away from Gibraltar either. If you want to visit Andalusia, then this city must be on your list. You can make a circuit and go through Cádiz as well. If you travel to Cádiz, then you will discover well-preserved historical and architectural riches. The old parts of the city, the remains of the city wall and the beautiful views together with the beach constitute the primary attractions. Interestingly the city is also home to a number of planted exotic trees, some say they were brought here by Columbus.
