![]() The Portuguese name for them is Açores. This archipelago is 1.500 km from Lisbon and is a popular Portuguese travel destination. The Azores (Portugal) must be one of the few unspoilt paradises on the planet. With their high craters, boiling pools, subtropical vegetation, cascading waterfalls, friendly people, and mild climate, the islands really must be seen to be believed. At Archipelago Azores we have been quietly organizing whale watching holidays, walking holidays, cycling holidays, diving holidays, sailing holidays as well as honeymoons and offering wonderful Azores accommodation for the past 10 years. As a specialist tour operator based in the UK, we all travel to the Azores for work (and often holidays) and have friends and colleagues all over the islands who help to make your holiday to the Azores not only memorable, but unique, so when you come home you’ll want to tell everyone about it – though on reflection you’ll just tell a few! However, the Azores aren’t for everyone! If you are drawn towards remote islands, where visitors feel unique and special, have an interest in whale watching or walking and enjoy the wonders of the natural world, the 9 islands of the Azores could well be the perfect destination. If you are in search of guaranteed sun, great beaches and a frenetic nightlife then the Azores are perhaps not the place for you.! Quick link(s): [...] Inclusion date: June 1, 2009 Inclusion method:
