![]() The full name is Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. It used to be the former capital of Thailand, today it is a complex of ruins and also a modern city just about 80 km north of Bangkok. Ayutthaya is considered the second most important place to visit in Thailand. The most important after Bangkok. You can get there by road, rail, even by boat! The latter one you should try... A rather rare way to travel in western countries (Europe, North America), but in Thailand it is quite common. Ayutthaya is a magical place, perhaps it should be the second destination you visit right after arriving to Bangkok. Many foreign tourists flock to the ruins to take photos of them, you will feel like in another World when walking between the stupas. The temples are fantastically beautiful, make sure to take a lot of photos when there! |
