Almería, Andalusia/Andalucía (Spain) Travel Directory

Almería, Andalusia/Andalucía (Spain) Travel Directory

This is a small town on the Mediterranean coast, southeast of Granada. Approximately 200.000 people live here.

Interestingly this city was founded by an Arab, Abd ar-Rahman III of Córdoba in the year 955. At that time Andalusia was part of the Caliphate of Córdoba.

Almería is not often visited by tourists, by it located between important major cities, so many travelers drive through it.

If you are looking for a more quiet, smaller seaside Spanish town, then Almería might be it!

You might also like the fact that there are over 322 sunny days per year or over 3000 sunny hours per year in this little city.
